amateur football in Stockport for all levels

AFC Stockport - leagues we compete in

29-06-2020 - TRAINING RETURNS The club have announced that trainings will return to AFC Stockport from the weekend of July 18th/19th. All 8 teams already have squads in place and new players looking to join as the club look for another productive campaign. Such a shame last season finished early. Both Saturday teams were chasing promotion, the Sats looking for the Division B title. The Sunday teams still had the 1st Team in a Quarter-Final of a cup, the Legion outfit in a Semi-Final and Quarter-Final of a cup and the Lionesses in a Semi-Final of a cup before COVID19 cancelled the season. #afcfam

18.06.20 - Gray announces her team

A squad of 18 are already in place for the AFC Stockport Reserves team. We welcome aboard new players, Joe Rathmill, Kieron Crossan, Gareth McKeever and Jack Henshaw as-well as Darren Riddett who only played one game before COVID19 closed the season. Now the Reserves look to better last season’s campaign which was finished early due to COVID19.

21.06.20 - Saturday teams are ready

The Saturday 1st & Reserve Teams are now in place. Alan Flint will be once again leading the charge of the Saturday team’s as his Sats Team are ready for another title challenging campaign. The Sats will be looking to build on the squad they already have and a few new faces are already to join the impressive outfit. This could be another successful season for Alan and his boys. Reserves manager, Nicola Gray will be heading the Warriors in to battle. If they can continue the great form they found before the season ended, we could see two Saturday teams challenging for honours. Especially with a couple new faces already looking to join the ranks. What an achievement this could be for the club if both Saturday teams were challenging for title honours!!! Let’s see what happens.
27.06.20 - 1sts Team Announced As the season slowly approaches, the first team have their biggest ever squad assembled for their SDSFL Premier League challenge. With the return of Luke Hobden along with majority of last season’s squad staying, this is a strong team to start the campaign with. Manager Dan Gray will be pleased with the base to start with but will no doubt be looking at a few new faces hopefully before the season kicks off.

21.05.2020 - A new committee in place

A new structure of AFC Stockport’s committee is now in place, ahead of the start of the 2020/21 campaign. Chairman Lee Humphries and Secretary Alan Flint will be steering the ship as we look to improve what is already one of the best run clubs in the North West.

11.06.20 - Back as soon as possible

We know everyone is eager to return to football and as a club we want to make sure we do this in the correct manner. We are closely monitoring what instructions are filtered down by the F.A., Cheshire F.A. and leagues we are involved with. At this moment in time there is no immediate return for any of the teams at the club, however the committee at AFC Stockport have been meeting up every two weeks instead of once a month, since COVID19 hit the UK and resulted in amateur football being cancelled. As soon as we feel it is safe enough to return as a club, we will be back, bigger and stronger….and safely. Keep Safe everyone.
